The Best Garter Toss Songs
Posted by Jason | Filed under Wedding DJ Advice
The Garter Removal and Toss is a very fun and sometimes “risque” moment in a wedding. Depending on how sensitive your family and friends are, you may choose to leave it out of the Wedding Reception itinerary entirely, or you might simply tone it down a little. Other couples might want to really put on a show, but remember, this is YOUR wedding, do whatever you like!
Generally it’s a good idea to choose a song to accompany the Garter Removal and Toss, and the DJ will play the song and immediately the MC will ask all of the “single” or unmarried guys in attendance to come to the dancefloor and stand by as the groom prepares to remove the garter from the Bride’s leg. Once the garter is removed, the groom will wait for the MC’s cue and will proceed to toss or flick the garter into the group of single men, who will undoubtedly all fight to get as far away from the garter as possible! No matter who catches it, there’s always a lot of laughter involved.
Picking the Garter Toss Song is not always so easy, so we’ve complied this list from Grooms who we worked with in 2010, these are songs they chose for the Garter toss. If you need a reference to listen to, we suggest going to Youtube and searching for the song by artist and title, and hopefully you’ll find one of these that you like. If not, we encourage you to pick whatever song you want, cause it’s your wedding! Happy Planning and have fun guys!

The Best Bouquet Toss Songs
Posted by Jason | Filed under Wedding DJ Advice
The Bouquet Toss is undoubtedly one of the most well known wedding traditions at a Wedding Reception, and it can be a lot of fun as well as very unpredictable. Our DJs have seen girls falling all over themselves to catch the Bouquet, while others were running away from the flying floral display channeling the speed of Marion Jones. It’s not uncommon for the bouquet to hit something on the ceiling before it ever reaches the single girls, or to be overthrown with the likeness of a great NFL quarterback.
By Tradition, the Bride stands with her back to her single Bridesmaids and other Single ladies who are in attendance and when the MC instructs her to do so, the Bride tosses the bouquet behind her and whoever catches it is said to be the next girl to be married, which might explain why we see so many young ladies heading for the exits when it’s time for the Bouquet Toss.
To add to the excitement, it’s best to pick a fun song to play as an introduction and background song for the Bouquet Toss. If we were voting, we’d say that Beyonce’s “Single Ladies” would have to be the all time Number 1 most requested song for the Bouquet Toss, but we’re hoping many Brides will choose something different, although we love Beyonce, her huge hit seems a bit overplayed.
Here’s a list of some alternative choices for the Bouquet Toss Song. If you aren’t familiar with these songs listed here, just visit Youtube and search for the song by artist and title, then listen to the song to see if you might want to use it for your Bouquet Toss. Happy Planning!
1.) California Gurls- Katie Perry
2.) Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend- Marilyn Monroe
3.) Girls Just Wanna Have Fun- Cindy Lauper
4.) Hey Ladies- Beastie Boys
5.) I Haven’t Met You Yet- Michael Buble
6.) It’s Raining Men- Weather Girls
7.) Last Night- Keysha Cole Fea. P. Diddy
8.) Milkshake- Kelis
9.) Pretty Woman- Ray Orbison
10.) Say Hey (I Love You)- Michael Franti & Spearhead
11.) Single Ladies- Beyonce
12.) The Sign- Ace of Base
13.) What A Girl Wants- Christina Aguliara
14.) Wishin & Hopin- Ani DiFranco or Dusty Springfield
15.) You Can’t Always Get What You Want- Krystal Bowersox

The Importance of Loving the Wedding Vendors you hire
Posted by Jason | Filed under Event Planning Tips
Our Event Planning Intern, Leslie has been very eager and excited to learn all about Weddings. Recently I assigned her the task of researching other Wedding related Blogs and telling me about some of her favorites so I could re-post those articles on our site, for our clients to read and enjoy. Here’s one article she found and what she said about the article:
From Leslie, Elegant Event Entertainment Event Planning Division–
“I found a great Blog on Planning that caught my attention…’Planning…Forever Events Blog‘, . The blog is titled, “love your wedding florist“, and it’s from the site’s special series, “loving your wedding vendors.” I am quite knowledgeable on how a wedding DJ gets their “amazing” title due to working with Elegant Event Entertainment’s DJ division, and reading all of the blogs on the EEE site; however, I didn’t know many of the details about other wedding vendors. Reading this blog gave me a better understanding that the wedding florist is just as important as any other planned detail of the wedding. I now know that one should trust their wedding florist, due to the simplest fact that being a florist is their chosen profession and it’s what they do week in and week out, they are a Professional in their field, they make it their business to know a zillion kinds of flowers.

This article’s “behind the scenes” was a great story. You see that a well trained florist can work under any amount of pressure. When problems occur at the last minute, they get worked through and fixed versus simply saying, “too bad, the bride is going to have to deal with these arrangements, and like it.” The florists in this article showed how important it is to put the bride’s needs first by giving everything they had to the event and rearranging the flowers to the bride’s highest expectations. This also showed dedication and professionalism, which is a necessity in the wedding industry.

A Wedding DJ’s personal journey: A special message from our President.
Posted by Jason | Filed under Announcement
Today is my 32 Birthday and I was thinking about my life and our business this morning, reflecting on the successes I’ve enjoyed and especially those as a Wedding DJ and business owner. I just wanted to take a quick moment and share with our clients and readers (past, present, and future) the happiness and joy that I have gotten and continue to get from being a Wedding DJ. I can’t say enough about the great feeling I get from working with Brides and Grooms, and for working with so many talented and driven people in our company as well as our long list of wonderful colleagues in the Wedding and Event Industry.
We are 1 of many Los Angeles Wedding DJ companies, we serve much of Southern California, and every week we have a chance to entertain at events for people from all walks of life. I personally started my career as a DJ in Asheville, NC in 1999, I was 20 years old. I’ve had the opportunity to share so many wonderful memories with my clients, whether it was a child’s birthday party, a bar/bat mitzvah, a corporate holiday party, or my personal favorite, a wedding. My list of clients has reached over 500 individuals that I have personally served, and since the inception of Elegant Event Entertainment, inc. in 2007, our company has added over 200 more satisfied clients to that list. I cannot imagine how many tens of thousands of people we have performed for in our careers, how many people have left an event that I was DJing and said to me “thank you so much” “you were amazing!” “I’ve never had so much fun!”
It’s a joy to be a part of this company, to be it’s visionary leader, to be it’s biggest fan, and to cheer it on, over and around every obstacle and every victory. I just wanted to share my thoughts with you, because I don’t believe that a company like ours is just “another DJ company” I believe we are vastly different. Our passion is built on more than just some nice sound and lighting equipment and a love of music. Combined with my co-founder Chris and all of our DJs, Jon, Raul, Matt, and whoever the next great “EEE DJ” might be, we currently have over 65 years of experience as “mobile DJ’s” and we all truly love our “jobs”, our clients, this industry, and this company.
I look forward to the many years of success that I know we will continue to have, to the thousands more happy clients that will come into our lives, and to helping build the careers of future DJs and Event Planners who have a similar passion for the Wedding and Event Industry. Thank you for all your continued support of our business and please, keep coming back, keep in touch, keep dancing, and keep having fun!
All My Best,
Jason Jones

This blog is for all those brides and grooms trying to plan a wedding and dealing with all the stress of making it unique. I came across an informative article that I think will help some of you. Below is a quote from this article with a link to the original – hit the link if you’re interested in the rest of the story.
“Each and every wedding is unique in its very own way. Thus, every single detail related to it must carry a persona that truly reflects this sense of uniqueness and exclusivity that will contribute to the whole blissful wedding experience. Having personalized wedding items and novelties is definitely one of the best ways to achieve this. Not only these items depict the distinctiveness of your wedding reception, they also act as meaningful mementos for you and your guests as a remembrance of a beautiful wedding.” -Rene Lacape

A Wonderful Wedding at The Westlake Hyatt
Posted by Chris | Filed under Ventura County Wedding Venues
Well, it was another perfect day for a Wedding DJ in Thousand Oaks, California. I was the DJ for Antoine and Yolanda’s wedding atWestlake Hyatt Even though other talent at Elegant Event Entertainment have done weddings and events there in the past, this was the 1st time I have actually DJ’d a wedding there. I’ve been to the hotel numerous times, our company has exhibited for the bridal shows held there 2 times each year, and I have attended a few weddings there as well. Being on the other side I must say I was quite impressed with the hotel and staff, which was led by Jessica Haik, a true professional in the hospitality and event industry. Along with the help of Rose Ortega of Rose Petal Events,Antoine and Yolanda’s wedding planner , together Jessica and Rose turned one of the restaurants at Westlake Hyatt into a very elegant room fit for a perfect wedding. One of my favorite touches was rose petals placed throughout the room. Paco Arias ofPaco Arias Photography provided the photography services, and I am sure he captured the event with style and professionalism. I look forward to seeing the photos.
I was raised in a family that was very close and it was nice to see the closeness of the family and friends of Antoine and Yolanda, who came together to celebrate this great occasion. Even though I was hired to be the Wedding DJ, both families and their friends made me feel like family.
Starting out the afternoon reception, family members toasted with loving thoughts for the Bride and Groom. To cap off the toasts, Antoine’s Mother sang to both of them. I know they’ll remember that moment forever.
The Hotel did an excellent job in making sure you felt like they were at home and helped capture the essence of family and tradition for this beautiful couple. I hope to provide Wedding DJ Services in Westlake Village many more times in 2010 and beyond, and the Westlake Hyatt will be on my list of places to recommend to Brides and Grooms.
